West Side Story - Washington DC - Musical, Drama

The classic American musical West Side Story is coming to The National Theatre in a groundbreaking new production directed by its legendary librettist, Tony Award® winner Arthur Laurents. This strictly limited pre-Broadway premiere will run from December 15 through January 17, 2009.

With a Tony Award-nominated score by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim, including "Tonight," "America," "Maria," "I Feel Pretty" and "Somewhere," and a book by Laurents, West Side Story is one of the most memorable musicals and greatest love stories of all time. This highly-anticipated production will feature Jerome Robbins' original Tony Award-winning choreography, re-created by Tony Award nominee Joey McKneely, as well as a bold new design that embodies the original spirit of the show while creating a fresh experience unlike any before it.
