In the late 1980s NYPD detectives Ralph and Lauren, go undercover as "Rio and Lola" to infiltrate an alleged drug ring. During their investigation at a local Staten Island gay bar populated with a mix of zany club regulars, "Rio" meets and falls in love with Danny, the local heartthrob. What becomes the "perfect" relationship is soon tarnished as disturbing truths are revealed by both men.
