Singin' in the Rain Summary

Based on the Oscar®-winning 1952 Comden and Green movie musical that starred Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds, Singin' in the Rain follows silent film star Don Lockwood, whose career may be in trouble when talkies begin to takeover. Lockwood fears audiences will turn on his obnoxious leading lady Lina Lamont and seeks the help of talented newcomer Kathy Selden to dub her vocals.

This new production of the 1983 stage adaptation features a book by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, music by Nacio Herb Brown, and lyrics by Arthur Freed. It comes to Broadway direct from Theatre du Chatelet, the Paris opera house where Broadway’s An American in Paris premiered, and will feature two-time Emmy winner (for Dancing with the Stars) Derek Hough.
