SVEJK Summary

U.S. premiere of Colin Teevan’s new play based on the 1920’s Czech novel, The Good Soldier Svejk, a satirical masterpiece, by Jaroslav Hasek. Teevan’s Svejk Chronicles the journey of Josef Svejk, an everyman, who survives the nightmare of WWI by never saying no. Whether Svejk is an idiot or a brilliant fool is the central question of the play. Teevan’s acclaimed Svejk premiered at the Gate Theatre in London in 2000, directed by Dalia Ibelhauptaite.
