A Number Summary

A Number is the latest play from Caryl Churchill (Far Away, Serious Money, Cloud Nine), whom The Times of London calls "the most daring of our dramatists." As A Number begins, a son confronts his father with the startling knowledge that he has genetically identical counterparts and is merely one of "a number." In The New York Times, Ben Brantley said A Number was a "stunning new play" with "profound pleasures."
