The Public Theater in association with City Theatre, Pittsburgh presents Ghetto Superstar, a spiritual, sexual and musical odyssey from Billy Porter - the self-proclaimed "Black Broadway Bitch." As the teachings of the Pentecostal Church collide with the gospel according to Dreamgirls, Ghetto Superstar: The Man That I Am reveals Porter’s own take on what it means to be a man.
The Public Theater is thrilled to announce that Ghetto Superstar will be the first ever main-stage production in Joe's Pub.
Joe's Pub is The Public Theater's newest performance space. Named in honor of The Public Theater/NYSF's founder, Joseph Papp, the Pub features food, drink, and eclectic entertainment that spans a wide spectrum of cultural and performance styles. Performances are held six nights a week, and the Pub itself is open daily from 6PM to 4AM. Performance times vary. There is a two drink or twelve dollar minimum per person.
