Lennon Summary

Lennon, a biographical musical, tells the story of John Lennon's life using Lennon's own words and twenty-seven of his songs. Lennon's ensemble consists of 9 extraordinary and diverse performers who will portray dozens of characters, from Aunt Mimi to Strom Thurmond. From John, Paul, George and Ringo, to J. Edgar Hoover and Jerry Rubin. Everybody plays everybody, and nobody ever leaves the stage. The band will be comprised of 10 members who will also be present on the stage for the entire performance.

  • This biographical musical tells the story of John Lennon's life using Lennon's own words and songs including "Imagine," "Instant Karma," "Give Peace a Chance," "Blue Suede Shoes," " Mother, Money," "Twist and Shout," “The Ballad of John and Yoko,” “(Just Like) Starting Over,” “New York City,” “Gimme Some Truth,” and many others.
  • Yoko Ono has given the musical permission to use three rare and unpublished songs by John Lennon for the musical. Two of the songs, "India, India" and "I Don't Want to Lose You" were never published, and exist only on private recordings. A third song, "Cookin' (in the Kitchen of Love)," was recorded by Ringo Starr in 1976, but was never recorded by John Lennon. 
  • Lennon's ensemble consists of 9 extraordinary and diverse performers including Will Chase (The Full Monty), Chuck Cooper (Caroline, or Change), Julie Danao (Miss Saigon), Mandy Gonzalez (Aida), Marcy Harriell (Rent), Chad Kimball (Into the Woods), Terrence Mann (Rocky Horror), Julia Murney (The Wild Party), and Michael Potts (Twelfth Night). A ten-piece onstage band will guide the audience through Lennon's life and the eras he shaped while using slide and film projections for visually stunning effects.
