Joe Hurley and the Gents Summary

As the leader of longtime NYC favorites Rogue's March, Joe Hurley has released several critically acclaimed CDs, and performed with the likes of Marianne Faithfull, Amy Rigby, Sally Timms, Martha Wainwright, and Shane MacGowan. The combination of Hurley's heartfelt vocal quality and his flair for cinematic storytelling has been recognized and captured on record by producers such as Tony Visconti(Bowie), Rob Fraboni(Stones),and PJ Harvey. For this special night at Joe's Pub, Hurley will be backed by The Gents, a sublime cast of NYC all-stars including Tony Shanahan(Patti Smith Group), James Mastro (John Cale, Ian Hunter), Chris Flynn, John Spurney (Hedwig) on piano with special guests Megan Weeder (John Mellencamp) on violin and Stephen Moses (Alice Donut) on slide trombone --Joe and The Gents will be playing songs culled from his forthcoming CD an eclectic mix of stripped-down ballads, music-hall flavored sing-a-longs, and flat-out stinging r&r. "Joe Hurley is one of New York's most entertaining frontmen- His distinctive vocals can be raucous as all get-out, and as sorrowful as a baritone can be" – Village Voice
