Tilly is a tiny, trusting mouse who leaves the country in pursuit of her dreams. Leonard is a big, boastful lion who leaves the jungle with hopes of ruling the world. A chance encounter and a shiny gold coin send these mismatched mammals to a city filled with strange food, bizarre machines, and the utterly mysterious… human. By uniting Tilly’s intellect with Leonard’s brawn, this furry pair just might find their way through the “concrete jungle” and restore power to the king — or perhaps it’s time for a queen instead! Performed with a playful puppet cast and accompanied by live, toe-tapping Klezmer tunes, The Mouse Queen is a charming musical fantasy inspired by two classic Aesop’s Fables.
This show is a wonderful way to introduce young children to musical theater. It’s a musical performed with shadow puppetry, marionettes, Bunraku puppets (the puppets are larger than life size and you can clearly see the puppeteer) and live actors.
Family workshops are now available only to members. Call (646) 223-3020 for information.
