Waterwell, formed in 2002, has quickly grown to become one of New York City's most innovative and enthralling new theater companies. With Advisory Board Members that include Tony Kushner and Mandy Patinkin it's no doubt that they are fast becoming a theatrical powerhouse. Waterwell's most recent production, an adaptation of Aeschylus' major work, The Persians, with the new subtitle "A Comedy About War with Five Songs" received astounding critical acclaim with the New York Times calling it “Brilliant... Inspired... Original. Implausibly funny and entertaining; alive enough to surprise even the performers themselves” and Theatermania remarking “Deeply moving and always mesmerizing. Waterwell has artfully staked a claim on our collective conscious.”
Waterwell's Cabaret Benefit will feature lively performances from its award-winning and groundbreaking productions, to include the evening's host and ensemble member: MadTV star Nicole Parker. A pre-show cocktail hour will take place within the Public Theater at 7:00 sponsored by Patròn and OmniPak Wines, and will also feature a raffle and silent auction.
