theAtrainplays Summary

theAtrainplays, a daredevil theatre project in which playwrights, librettists, lyricists, composers, choreographers and directors create new work from scratch during the course of a single New York City subway ride. The performers, live band and designers then have 24 hours to put it all together, get off book, rehearse and perform the show.

Performers scheduled to appear will include Ashlie Atkinson (The Ritz), Lisa Barnes (“Rescue Me”), Stephanie D’Abruzzo, (Tony Award nominee, Avenue Q), Natalie Douglas (7-time MAC Award winner), Lawrence Feeney (My Super Ex-Girlfriend, “The Black Donnelly’s”), Eric Michael Gillett (Kiss Me, Kate), Cady Huffman (Tony Award winner, The Producers), Michael Shawn Lewis (Phantom of the Opera), Orville Mendoza (Romeo and Juliet), Donovan Patton (“Blue’s Clues”), Christine Pedi (Talk Radio), Michael Pemberton (The Farnsworth Invention), Darcie Siciliano (Red Dog Howls), Rene Ruiz (Toxic Audio) and Melanie Vaughan (Ring of Fire), among others to be announced.

theAtrainplays Creative Team

The creative team includes writers Craig Pospisil, Barbara Hammond, Jonathan Marc Sherman, Erica Silberman and Jacquelyn Reingold; lyricist-composers Gaby Alter, Brian J. Nash, and Jeremy Schonfeld; director/choreographers Barry McNabb, Edie Cowan, Tony Parise, Joe Ricci/Tricia Brouk, and director David Hilder. Also involved are Alec Berlin (Musical Director), Andrea ‘Spook’ Testani (Production Supervisor), Andrew Donovan (original scenic design), and Rocky Noel (lighting and sound design).
