Told with fast moving scenes, songs and dance, Imelda is an involving portrait of an ambitious woman who wanted to put her country as an equal player on the world stage, spanning the pivotal years after Philippine Independence from 1940’s to 1980’s. Musical highlights include: "A Beautiful Place": sung by Imelda, where she envisions how bright her future and her country can be; "To Raise a Butterfly": sung by Marcos and Ninoy with opposing views of Imelda; and "Myself My Heart" sung by Corazon Aquino after the assasination of her husband.
